Orlando Hewitt

Orlando Hewitt has spent almost all of his working life in the area of
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).  One of the few trained ISO 9001:2000 Auditors in the Region, specialising in TVET, he brings to the
table unique skill sets in: 

• Quality Assurance Management & Training
• Risk Management
• Facility Audit Training
• External Verification Training
• Data Analysis and Reporting
• Monitoring and Evaluation
• Project Development and Management

Mr. Hewitt has to his credit, A MSc in Human Resource Development as
well as an undergraduate degree in History, both from the University of the
West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He began his career at the HEART Trust/NTA in the Testing Unit and quickly became the Senior Examinations Coordinator. With the reorganization of HEART in 2000, Orlando was transferred to the National Council on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NCTVET) as a Quality on Assurance Specialist. 

He acted as the Manager on several occasions and gained valuable experience
in accreditation, verification, auditing, risk management and evaluation of TVET programmes in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. He has presented papers at several international conferences on Quality Assurance and Quality Management and currently free-lances as a Consultant with primary focus on assisting training organizations and firms with the establishment and implementation of Quality Management Systems framework for accreditation.

Orlando is a member of the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance
in Tertiary Education – (CANQATE) and the Institute of Risk Management – (IRM) London, UK.
